The employee was looking for assistance with returning to work and needed reasonable adjustments. The employee has a significant visual impairment.
The employee was proactive and had submitted an application to Access to Work. Minty & Friend was a main contact for Access to Work.

- Minty & Friend helped Access to Work identify the correct assessor.
- Minty & Friend liaised with the assessor prior to and after the assessment to ensure recommendations of software were going to be compatible with the client's in house software.
- Minty & Friend agreed the recommendations were compatible and speeded up the sanction of funding from Access to Work of nearly £6,000, confident the products would work.
- Minty & Friend liaised with the procurement / accounts department within the client's organisation to explain how to ensure that Access to Work funding is reclaimed.
- Minty & Friend liaised with the IT department in the organisation to locate and assist the appropriate person to install the software and add extra memory, and is expecting installation soon.
- Minty & Friend kept the employee notified of any developments. The Line Manager was involved only as required e.g.when sanction for funding was required.
