What is the DDA?
The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA) applies to all employers and everyone who provides a service to the public, except the Armed Forces. The DDA 2005 builds on the earlier act, making important amendments to legislation, particularly the public sector.
The DDA gives people the right not to be discriminated against in the areas of employment, access to goods, facilities and services, buying or renting land or property, education and transport.
