Employment Equality (AGE) regulations take effect.
Designed to ensure compliance with the European Employment Directive on age discrimination and to bring us into line with the US and other European countries, the Regulations will make it illegal for any employer or provider of vocational training to discriminate on grounds of age. The Regulations prohibit both direct and indirect age discrimination, harassment and victimisation.

Simon goes to San Francisco
Simon visited San Francisco in the Summer to collect an Award for ‘Abnormally Funny People' at the 2006 Superfest Film Festival. Hosted by the Mayor of San Francisco, Superfest is the world's longest-running juried disability film festival and the primary international showcase for cutting-edge films that portray disability culture and experience in all its diverse, complex and empowering facets.

Paralympic World Cup
Our men's basketball team won bronze, the women's basketball team silver, our cycling and swimming teams won seven gold medals apiece and our athletes took nine golds, with David Weir taking three on his own. What a glorious final tally.
